2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games
Six Degrees led the planning and delivery of all elements of transport and traffic management services across all venues and hubs of the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Our successful creation and delivery of a strategic Local Area Traffic Management & Parking (LATM&P) masterplan ensured coordinated and proportionate traffic measures were deployed to meet the requirements of the Games.

Context
Glasgow hosted the Commonwealth Games in 2014 attracting more than 1.5m visitors across 11 days of sport in 16 venues. We were asked to help the Games mitigate the impact of traffic on the background network whilst maintaining easy access for residents, ticket holders and business.
What we did
Six Degrees led the planning and delivery of all elements of transport and traffic management services across all venues and hubs of the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
- Developed a Traffic & Parking Management (including Last Mile / Zone X) Strategic Concept for the Games
- Created a model venue Traffic Management & Parking plan concept design and successful rolled out across all Commonwealth Games venues
- Created detailed traffic management plans, including equipment, barrier, signage, and staffing requirements
- Established dynamic traffic management and parking concepts for cycling road races
- Procured equipment and personnel to successfully deliver Traffic Management operations
- Liaised with multiple partners including local authorities, police and relevant bodies, to ensure the required traffic management orders were drafted and published effectively
- Trained, tested, rehearsed, and deployed traffic management operations to ensure smooth and efficient running of Commonwealth Games transport operations
