At the Wimbledon Championships, the All-England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) prides itself on hosting the best tennis tournament in the world. AELTC expects its suppliers to deliver the highest standard of services possible. Appointed in 2021 Six Degrees continues to lead the planning and delivery of transport services at the Championships.

Forced to cancel the 2020 tournament due to the impact of COVID, AELTC turned to Six Degrees in 2021 to plan and deliver a COVID-compliant traffic and transport plan, a key enabler for the Championships to go ahead that year. Following the successful conclusion to the 2021 Championships, driven by the need for a new approach in line with the ambitious growth agenda of AELTC, Six Degrees created a transformation strategy for traffic management and transport at Wimbledon:

Conducted a focused review of transport preparations for the 2021 edition of the Wimbledon tournament, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities to inform planning.

Tournament Transport Planning

Prepare transport plans for new accommodation sites and revise venue transport plans to ensure all aspects of the transport plan were aligned and coordinated.

Tournament Transport Operations

Provide tournament transport leadership, and coordinate all aspects of transport service delivery, staff and all venue transport operations.

Deliver better experiences through technology

Embracing new and innovative approaches, we introduced AI fleet optimisation software to significantly reduce emissions, costs, and achieve greater operational certainty, delivering better player and guest experiences as a result.

Successful delivery of tournament transport operations, with fully compliant bubble-to-bubble services in 2021, we helped Wimbledon move approximately 1,000 clients per day, including a complete redesign of existing transport arrangements within two months of planning to commence.

Six Degrees developed a more robust, efficient, and modern intelligence-led transport service, allowing the Championships to greatly reduced vehicle kilometres and emissions in-line with AELTC’s sustainability goals.

Due to the success of our involvement, Six Degrees has been retained by AELTC to further develop and deliver tournament transport operations.
