Context
WMCA identified the requirement for an RTCC to address issues around ever increasing demand for travel in the region, the impact of regional development on transport infrastructure and finally the challenges of major events, such as the Commonwealth Games.
What we did
Recognising the gap in a holistic approach to transport coordination in the UK and building on our experience of developing RTCCs in Liverpool and London, we took the authority’s strategy and developed a concept design all the way through to operational delivery.
Six Degrees led the project from start-to-finish. The team brought together the various work streams within the project, engaged with multitude of stakeholders to understand their requirements and generate their buy-in whilst balancing the requirements and demands of all. All delivered in a fixed and demanding timescale.
Plans were further evolved by Six Degrees to ensure it was Games-Ready in time for the CWG. The facility was formally opened by the Secretary of State for Transport.
“Six Degrees advised TfWM on the development and implementation of the Regional Transport Coordination Centre. They brought a wealth of experience, military precision and a focus that was essential to move from concept to a brand new facility. Their strengths lie in their ability to keep teams focused on the strategic goals, being always available to offer solutions, and enable partners to work towards a common vision. I highly recommend Six Degrees to any organisation seeking support in moving from idea to product”
